F-75X Clear Internal Memory Procedure
This article describes how to clear the internal memory on an F-750 and F-751,

Symptom: The F-751 will get stuck on "Calculating" when taking a measurement.
Description: The internal memory stores the device and app settings. Example device settings are spectrometer coefficients, serial number, DAC offset, etc. Example App settings are Reference Integration Time, Sample Scans To Average, Bias Correction, etc. It is possible, that certain App settings may conflict when updating or installing an App with the same name. To eliminate these conflicts, it is important to clear the internal memory where these settings are stored. Since this procedure clears ALL device and App settings, it is important to verify the device settings file is located on the SD Card before beginning this process. The device settings file is always named F75XSettings.txt. Every unit is shipped from the factory with the settings file in the SD Card root directory with the device serial number appended to the file name.
Example: F75XSettings_750-018-20034.txt.
Simply make a copy of this file in the SD Card root directory and remove the _serial number from the file name. After this process is complete, you are ready to start the Clear Memory Operation.
Steps to Clear Internal Memory:
Copy the FelixSpectrometer.app onto the root directory of the SD Card. Co ntact Customer Support for this app. Make a copy of the settings file located on the SD Card. Rename the new copy to F75XSettings.txt if necessary. Start the device and load the FelixSpectrometer App. Go to Device Options and select Erase Internal Memory. The instrument will shut down after the memory is erased. Remove the SD Card and delete the Spectrometer App from the SD Card. Copy the new/desired apps from the PC into the root directory of the SD Card. Insert the SD Card back into the F75X then load the desired app. The UI will prompt the user to load the settings from the SD Card. Press the right arrow to continue. Turn the device OFF, then delete the settings file. CAUTION: Ensure the original settings file that contains the device serial number is still located in in the root directory (Example: F75XSettings_750-018-20034.txt) Contact customer support with any issues.
